8 September – 28 October 2023
Gallery bradwolff & partners, Amsterdam
opening 8 september 5-9 pm. Exhibition runs until 21 october 2023
Bradwolff & Partners is proud to announce that they will be taking up permanent residence in Amsterdam as of September at Lijnbaansgracht 314, Amsterdam.
With the opening of the exhibition ‘together’, Bradwolff & Partners celebrates the launch of this new space. The exhibition is inspired by the eponymous work ’together’ by herman de vries. This group show features nine artists displaying their vision of ’togetherness’; as community, collaboration and shared experiences in different media, styles and modes of presentation.

Young, mid-career and established artists engage in dialogue with one another: herman de vries, Ruta Butkute, Sjoerd Buisman, Iva Gueorguieva, Katrin Korfmann, Jaehun Park, Greg Colson, Marike Schuurman and Eva-Fiore Kovacovsky. The opening of Bradwolff & Partners is an important milestone in the platform’s growth. Van den Bergh and her team are determined to position the represented artists in the international art world through long-term collaborations. The autonomy of the artists and the artworks remain central to this, with Bradwolff & Partners acting as a catalyst to bring the works to a wider audience.

Sculpture, choreography, and installation are the main pillars of Ruta Butkute’s art practice. Her method is guided by a reflective approach to the physicality of sculpture and the relation to the performers, audiences, and the spaces in which they interact. She developed a new medium she calls ‘sculptural performance’, which places objects, sculptures, and space in a transformative field, enabling the direction of movement. In this book, a collaboration between Ruta Butkute and Emily Kocken the vital elements of Butkute’s latest work are brought together to create an experience that manifests her unique take on sculpture and performativity. New meanings behind the images unfold via a poetic assemblage of linguistic genres, word play and critical references, culminating in conversations the artist had with her peers on ‘how to make sculpture move’.
